On Saturday 25th March over 110 guests, including 20 from Rotary Clubs in South Cyprus, celebrated the official Charter of the newest Rotary club in Cyprus: The Rotary Club of Kyrenia Cosmopolitan.
The Merit Royal Hotel in Alsancak was the venue for an excellent five course menu accompanied by French wines, that drew praise from all. This was followed by presentations by Rotary District to the new Club, and the welcoming of three new members, the official business closing with a toast to “Peace the World Over”. Guests then danced the night away to Rat Pack Classics by entertainer Peter Dawson.
The English language Rotary Club of Kyrenia Cosmopolitan is the twentieth Rotary Club in Cyprus, the fourth in the North. The Club meets on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month at Merit Park Hotel in Kervansaray, and has 32 members from all walks of life.
Rotary is the largest and oldest service organisation in the world, with members participating in projects to help both the local and international community. Rotary is non-political, non-sectarian, and non-profit, and welcomes all with some spare time, energy, and enthusiasm to commit.
