The friend of Northern Cyprus shares its Daily News of Life and Times around the world
Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu participated in an event on World Tourism Day, 27th September, in order to create awareness of tourism, by visiting the Vasıf Palace Museum in Lefke, which will be open to the public in 3-4 months time.

Having been to Erenköy on a number of occasions and as a member of TFR, I was pleased to see that yet even more people had made their way to the site of the Erenköy siege of Turkish Cypriots by Greek Troops and Greek Cypriot National Guard which started on 6th August 1964 and learn the truth of this important part of Northern Cyprus history.

When I first came to North Cyprus I spent time exploring the many fascinating places in Lefkosa, and I soon discovered a museum near to the Kyrenia Gate and this was the Museum of National Struggle and I decided I would go back again as I wanted to write about it, and with the anniversary the 20th July Turkish Intervention in Cyprus 1974 now seems an ideal time to publish what I learned.
