Dear members of TFR,

Although they were not official members of our association, many of you will have known them as valued and long‑standing members of the TRNC expatriate community.

Marion Stuart – RIP

At the express wish of the family, we share the sad news of the sudden and unexpected passing of Marion Stuart on Wednesday, 20th May 2026.

Marion was a pillar of the foreign community in Northern Cyprus for decades. She was known by many through her work as a celebrant at weddings and funerals — a colourful personality with her heart in the right place. Sometimes outspoken, always charming, and always ready to help others.

I personally had the pleasure of meeting her many years ago in my capacity as a freelance journalist.

You will be missed by many, Marion.

Robert George Burns – RIP

With sadness, we also inform you of the passing of Robert George Burns, beloved husband of Lyn Bick from Karsiyaka. Robert died peacefully in his sleep on 18th May 2026 after a long illness.

His funeral took place on Monday, 25th May 2026 at 11:00 at the Lapta International Cemetery.

R.I.P. Robert.
