Chef´s Choice – Homemade BBQ-Sauces
Tasty Ajvar and Honey Sauce
Summertime is BBQ time. And a good barbecue meal tradtionally includes delicious sauces. Of course, nowadays you can find a wide range of prefabricated sauces in the supermarket shelves, but it’s also fun to create your own sauces. To give you readers a few suggestions, I publish a little series of quick and easy recipes for homemade barbecue sauces.
Your imagination has no limits, changing and complementing the recipes to your taste!
- 200 ml tomato ketchup
- 2 tspn honey
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 6 tspn fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tspn lemon pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tspn chili powder
- 1 tspn curry powder
- 2 tbsp hot Ajvar sauce (red bell pepper sauce)
Mix ketchup and honey thoroughly.
Stir in onion, parsley, spices and Ajvar sauce one after the other.
Keep in the fridge until until ready to serve.
The sauce goes well with all kind of grilled meat, köfte (meatballs) and sausages.
