The Mediterranean storm is not expected to affect Cyprus

The latest meteorological assessments and analyses of the tropical storm forming in the Mediterranean on Saturday and Sunday in the area of Greece, Crete and Turkey’s Aegean coast is expected on Monday to leave the area after it has affected the Marmara and West Black Sea regions.

The tropical storm is not expected to affect the island of Cyprus, however it is expected that the system will transport dust from North Africa via strong winds to our region on Saturday and Sunday, and it will be expected to cause heavy rainfall on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday depending on the cool and humid air mass in the upper atmosphere.

The development and the course of the tropical storm are continuously being monitored and  further reports will be given if there are any changes in the estimates.
