Cyprusscene were delighted to receive the following information from the Rotary Club of Kyrenia Cosmopolitan:
On Sunday 25th June the Rotary Club of Kyrenia Cosmopolitan was happy to provide Bayram Food Parcels to needy families in Karsiyaka to mark the end of Ramadan. The Food Parcels provided all the staples such as rice, lentils, and dried beans, as well as a few treats for Eid.

The Rotary year ends on June 30th, and the Charter President Malcolm Mitcheson chose to utilize the Club’s annual “President Discretionary Fund” for this cause. Money is raised for this fund through sales of Rotary items within the Club membership, and in June each year the outgoing Club President decides how best to allocate this resource.
The Rotary Club would like to say a big “Thank you” to Mus at Jessic Bar & Restaurant in Karsiyaka and his team: Ahmet, Asad, and Ekran, and to the Karsiyaka Muktar Ahmet Pelit for helping out with distribution of the boxes.
Jessic’s Bar will again be the venue for one of the biggest Club fundraisers of the year on Sunday 9th July with a jam-packed day of live music by “Peter Swings”, excellent BBQ, raffle, and the mega Auction with great items going under the hammer. There are some real bargains to be had, and more coming in each day. Wii sports, a new Kenwood Mixer, and framed nostalgic railway posters are just some of the items that can be viewed already.
If you have anything to contribute that can be auctioned or raffled, please drop it off at Jessic’s anytime, and 100% of money raised will go to projects at Yesilyurt Special Needs School near CMC Golf Course in Lefke – the venue for the Rotary Club’s inaugural Golf Tournament 14 & 15 October.
