North Cyprus Events Calendar from 3rd March 2017

A list of events you can look forward to in North Cyprus. For those charity fund-raisers, venues etc. which would like to include an event in the Events Calendar, contact www.cyprusscene.com The Events Calendar is published every week on Thursday so please try to submit information to be included by Wednesday pm each week.

Note: The Foreign Residents in the TRNC (TFR) now have a further venue for their weekly get-togethers to make it easier for those people living on the east side of Kyrenia. The Lapta venue will still continue as previously on Fridays.

With effect from Wednesday 8th March, there will now be an additional get-together at the Panta Restaurant in Catalkoy from 3pm to 5pm each week.

Hisarkoy Orchid Festival … The festival will start at 10am on the 4th and close at 11pm on the 5th. During this event there will be walks to see the wild orchids and the flora and fauna of the area … After the opening ceremony, visitors will be able to browse around the many stalls which will be selling organic produce and many other items … In addition there will be folk dancing displays and other shows … A festival fire will be lit which will add a lovely atmosphere to the occasion.

14^th Orchid Walk for KAV (Cancer Research Foundation) … Kozankoy to Karsiyaka … Walk starts at 10am … Donation 35TL … Always a well attended event for charity.

Lefkosa Belediye Orchestra will be performing at Ataturk Cultural Centre, Lefkosa … Concert starts at 8pm … Tickets 15TL available at Gloria Jeans, Deniz Plaza, Anilir Art Gallery in Buyuk Han, Atelier Kabuk in Bandabuliya … Arranged jointly between Lefkosa Municipality and Rotary Club of Kyrenia St Hilarion … Proceeds to Turkish Cypriot Child Protection Institution.

Friends of the TRNC Emergency Services (112) Afternoon Tea at the Black Olive Cafe in Alsancak will be starting an hour later than usual at 4.00 p.m … The speaker will be Claire Morley and as 8th March is International Women’s Day, she will be speaking about ‘Extraordinary Women’ with an emphasis on women, some local, whose achievements have not necessarily received the recognition they deserved … 20TL per person includes sandwiches and cakes and as much tea or coffee as you can drink. Tepebasi Tulip Festival – opening ceremony at 11.00am on the 18^th March, throughout the day there will be folk dancing, concerts, and Tulip walks … There will also be trekking early morning on Sunday 19^th March … In the festival area there will be stands which will be selling local foods, craftwork etc. so there will be plenty to see and do.
