Chef´s Choice – Homemade BBQ-Sauces
Raspberry Spare Ribs and Steak Sauce
Summertime is BBQ time. And a good barbecue meal tradtionally includes delicious sauces. Of course, nowadays you can find a wide range of prefabricated sauces in the supermarket shelves, but it’s also fun to create your own sauces. To give you readers a few suggestions, I publish a little series of quick and easy recipes for homemade barbecue sauces.
Your imagination has no limits, changing and complementing the recipes to your taste!
- 60 ml raspberry jam
- 4 tbsp brown sugar
- 40 ml Worcestershire sauce
- 60 ml tomato ketchup
- 40 ml malt vinegar
- 1 – 2 tspn hot pepper sauce (e.g. Tabasco)
Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes or until sauce thickens. Stir occasionally that nothing adheres to the bottom of the pan
Season with salt and ground pepper to taste.
If you want a smoother ketchup-like consistency of the sauce, simply shred the mixture in a food processor or with a hand blender for a few seconds.
