Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble

Raising money for TULIPS (Help Those With Cancer)

By Margaret Sheard

We have received more news from Sue Steel, a member of the Committee of the Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble which is taking place on Sunday 6th April 2014. There is a lot of work being done by the Committee to make this event the best ever and I am giving below yet another initiative which has been undertaken.

One of the initiatives of the Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble 2014 is to wear a T-shirt which depicts why you are running or walking.

The committee of this year’s event, in conjunction with Ran and Sagit Yaish, owners of Gimmick Gifts of Karakum, have teamed up to offer participants a discounted T-shirt, of their own design for just 23TL (normal price 29TL).

Lesley Roper, wife of the late George Roper who died in June 2012 and was the co-founder of the event said: “This is a fabulous idea and I have already bought my T-shirt to show I am running for George. I would ask others to come along and do the same as it is a great way to show team spirit when running or walking.”

Jackie Hugo whose husband, Ron, died in 2013 has also dTulips logo englishedicated her T-shirt to her husband and she will be walking with Mrs Roper.

Art Watson, Chairman of the organising committee said: “This is an excellent way for local businesses and our event to work together for the common good of TULIPS. The committee have had T-shirts made with Committee Member on the back and individual names on the front, so on the day of the event, if anyone needs help, we will be easily recognisable amongst the crowds.”

If any other business wish to become involved with the event, please contact Art Watson on 0533 861 4873 (235)
