The Foreign Nationals at Jasmine Court
By Margaret Sheard
There has been a lot of publicity and a “truck fest” tour from Lapta to Girne to promote the Barry Snakes protégés’ The Foreign Nationals leading up to their concert at Jasmine Court Hotel on 8th June.
The big night arrived and the ballroom at Jasmine Court was full with around 300 people who had come to support this new young band. When the band was first set up in April 2012 there were 4 young men from different countries, hence the name of The Foreign Nationals, unfortunately Josh (from America) had to drop out and he was replaced by Jack, so the current band members are Adem Oznedim (lead guitar) from Cyprus, Ivan Fidrovskiy (rhythm guitar/vocals) from Russia and James Gray (drums) and Jack Irvin (base guitar) from the UK.
The boys took to the stage and started their concert which soon had the ballroom filled with the sound of their music with strobe lighting adding to the atmosphere and each piece received thunderous applause. I am sure the boys really enjoyed the evening, as did the audience.
The event was in aid of Help Those with Cancer Association (Tulips) and the result for the charity from the ticket sales will be published as soon as it is available. There was also a collection made from the audience in an official Tulips locked collecting box which is to be taken to their office for opening during the week, so there is a further amount to be added to the results of the evening.
So a big thank you to The Foreign Nationals and Barry Snakes for this big boost for the charity funds and for giving the audience such a brilliant night’s entertainment and to Creditwest the sponsors of this event.
