President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ersin Tatar received the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu yesterday (2nd February). After their meeting an inter-delegation meeting was also held. President Tatar and Minister Çavuşoğlu held a joint news conference following the meetings.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated that a fair and sustainable solution to the Cyprus problem could only be created by a realistic point of view hence it is time to start thinking of a two-state solution for the island.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu attended the video conference of the 6th Mediterranean Dialogue Forum organised by Italy’s Foreign Ministry and the Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) and said that nobody has the right to question the membership of Turkey to NATO.
Speaking at a budget planning meeting in the Turkish parliament, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that developments in the Eastern Mediterranean were straining relations with the European Union.
