Girne Municipality have organised a Jivamukti Yoga event in cooperation with the Cyprus Turkish Animal Rights Association and Seven Sense Yoga which will be held on Sunday 14th October from 5pm to 6pm at the Sevim Ebeoğlu Peace Park (next to the Girne Open Market) under the supervision of Naile Soyel.
This event has been postponed due to current bad weather conditions and perhaps dangerous conditions for Ahmet Abdulaziz to Run/Walk across the mountain from Lefkosa to Ozanköy on Saturday 13th October… A new date will be confirmed when arrangements have been made.

Construction work on the second stage of the Lefkoşa-Girne dual-carriageway started last week and marking on the section between the St Hilarion junction and the Girne by-pass underpass was completed and resurfacing started.

A promotional event was held at The Olive Tree Hotel, Catalkoy, relating to the project “Transfer Station and Improved Waste Management Services”, which will be utilized by 4 municipalities on the northern coastline and is funded by the Municipality of Girne and by the Community Development 4th Grant Program by the European Union.

We run a Duplicate Bridge club at Watermill Hotel, Girne every Monday and we are looking for new players to join us. Recently a few of our regulars have returned to the UK so we would like to encourage some new blood to join us.
Sadly last Thursday evening the 4th January 2018, Girne resident Ted Pledger passed away. Ted was a very popular character and was known by many and prior to moving to Northern Cyprus, around 14 years ago, he came from Maida Vale in London.
