We have met up with our German friends, Chris and Fred, on many occasions at the Osman Ağa Kűltűr Evi in Iskele for breakfast, which is a wonderful spread and a great experience.
Recently on one of their many visits to North Cyprus, we decided to make it a lunch date instead and so we made our way to Iskele to catch up with Chris and Fred and hear all of their news.
It was also nice to meet again with Emine Sutcu, the owner of the restaurant, a very interesting lady with a passion for history. Emine has been working on a museum, which is alongside the restaurant, for many years and at last this will be opening for visitors very soon. During the times we have visited the restaurant we have looked around the museum and there are some very interesting artefacts there.
We settled down at our table near to a roaring log fire, and the mezes started to arrive, followed by our main course. As I am vegetarian I was treated to a special spinach based dish, which was very tasty, and we finished off with a coffee. A very enjoyable lunch with lots of conversation in very comfortable surroundings.
Although it is quite a distance to travel, we always like visiting Osman Ağa Kűltűr Evi, there is always a warm welcome and the food is superb.
