Stephanie Harrison Croft receives Akif Manaf Health and Peace Award
International Honour for Hope4Pets Animal Welfare Advocate
International Recognition for Lifelong Dedication
The award acknowledges Stephanie’s lifelong commitment to rescuing, caring for and rehoming abandoned and stray animals, while also supporting nature conservation and encouraging children to develop compassion and understanding towards animals.
A Passion That Began in Childhood
Stephanie’s passion for animal welfare began at an early age. Having started rescuing animals at the age of five, she has continued throughout her life to work tirelessly on behalf of animals in need, taking part in voluntary initiatives in several countries.
Helping Animals Through Hope4Pets
She was one of the founders of the animal welfare charity Hope4Pets and served as its president for around ten years. During that time she helped coordinate the rescue of abandoned and stray animals, organised veterinary care, provided food and assistance, and worked to find loving new homes for countless animals.
Protecting Nature and Wildlife
In addition to her animal welfare activities, Stephanie has demonstrated a strong commitment to environmental conservation. She has personally planted more than 1,000 trees, including native species such as oak, beech, willow and hawthorn, on unused land in the United Kingdom. Her efforts have helped create habitats that support wildlife and protect local biodiversity.
Inspiring the Next Generation
Education has also been an important part of her work. Stephanie has visited primary schools to speak with children about animal welfare and the importance of caring for animals. During these visits, she was often accompanied by one of the rescued dogs she had helped save, providing a practical and engaging way for children to learn.

A New Role Promoting Health and Peace
As part of the award programme, Stephanie has also been appointed as the United Kingdom Representative of the Health and Peace Award, helping to raise awareness of initiatives that support health, peace and sustainable living.

Building a Healthier and More Peaceful World
The award is presented by the Healthy Living Foundation, which recognises individuals and organisations whose work contributes to healthier communities, environmental sustainability and peaceful coexistence. The Foundation promotes healthy lifestyles, sport, environmental protection and its vision of creating “Healthy Life Village in Peace” projects around the world.
Well-Deserved Recognition
Following presentations in countries including Italy, France, Belarus, Côte d’Ivoire, Pakistan, Russia, the United States, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sierra Leone, the award has now reached the United Kingdom, highlighting the growing international recognition of individuals whose work benefits both people and the wider environment.
Stephanie Harrison-Croft’s award is a fitting tribute to a lifetime dedicated to helping animals, protecting nature and inspiring future generations to treat all living creatures with kindness and respect.
Congratulations to Stephanie on this well-deserved international recognition.
