There is less than 2 weeks to go for this 3-day festival presented by Alper Cengiz and Roland Eyerich at The Soulist which is in aid of Tulips (Help Those with Cancer Association).
The 2nd “Friends Across Borders” in aid of Tulips (Help Those with Cancer Association) is being held 27th to 29th September at The Soulist Coffee and Music House, Alsancak. There will be 8 Bands on Friday and Saturday. Jazz, Young Stage and Classical performances on Sunday. FAB will be presenting also in cooperation with RockCyprus.
The “Friends Across Borders” (FAB) project is a social cultural project which will bring together musicians from both sides of this divided island on one stage in the North.
Following the theme “Music and Cancer have no Boundaries“, the musicians will be coming to support this project. The new cooperation partner is RockCyprus. You can follow us on their website: click here or on our website by clicking here
The music has its price but it is for 2 great objectives. The objectives: to get Friends Across Borders and to generate good proceeds for TULIPS. In addition to this social cultural project, the musicians have agreed that the proceeds of the charity tickets should be donated to “Tulips (Help Those with Cancer Association)”.
Diversity in high quality Live Music is the heart of this year’s project : Blues/Rock, Rock, Reggae, Jazz and Classical. Friday 27th September is the day for Rock, Psychedelic and Alternative Rock. Saturday 28th September will have a mixed program from different music styles. Sunday 29th September will be Jazz, Young Stage and will finish with Classical Music. Friday + Saturday there are 8 Bands. The Jazz band’s name JazzNuts has changed to Aris Constantinou Jazz Quartet.
With small steps, starting now, bands from the North are playing in the South. We present them as Ambassadors for Music on the FAB Stage. Blue Tears, Supernova Reggae Band and The Great Flood.
- BLUE TEARS played on 13th of July at “Yurts in Cyprus (Paphos)”with Blues/Rock.
- SUPERNOVA REGGAE BAND played on the 31st of August at “Yurts in Cyprus (Paphos)” for Summer`s End Reggae

For the “Young Stage“ we have a new artist on Sunday “Salime Atalar“. She is supporting FAB. She is a student at the Can-Can Music School of Caner Canev Ilgar. I saw her brilliant performance at Bellapais last Thursday (12th September).
Biography:
Salime was born in 2003 and started to play the piano when she was 3 years old with the help of her mother. She started her formal piano training when she was 6 years old with Caner Ilgar. She is still continuing her classical training by taking ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal School of Music) examinations. Salime also developed an interest in playing guitar when she was 10 years old and has continued playing. Her biggest passion, however, is singing which she has been doing for as long as she can remember. She plans to pursue a career in music after completing her secondary education.
