Exhibition of Ukrainian and Kazakhstan artists on display at NEU

By Ahmet Abdulaziz…..

An exhibition of artworks of two foreign artists was opened in the city recently.

The venue of the exhibition is the Exhibition Hall of Irfan Gunsel Culture and Congress Center of Near East University. The exhibition was inaugurated by  the Minister of Labour and Social Security, Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu.

The exhibitions include 100 print paintings of Ukrainian Artist Volodymir Chornobay and 25 artworks of Kazakhstan artist Orazbek Yessenbayev.

In his short speech, the Ukrainian artist Volodymir Chornobay said that it was an important factor to find an opportunity to express his thoughts, desires and ideas and thanked the Near East University for giving him the opportunity to present his creativity.

Chornobay said, “Giving artists this opportunity is an indication that art always gives a positive result. I am very happy to be here, to communicate with the locals, to exchange ideas and to share my thoughts. I would like to emphasize that I have been working for more than 10 years on the exhibition entitled “Organic Structures” which we will be opening with you today. Serigraphy printing technique was used in graphic studies. When I finished my work I realised that many symbols are subconsciously reflected in my works or as part of the influence of the outside world. I hope the pictures you see today will have a different effect on each of you.”

Kazakh artist Orazbek Yessenbayev expressed his gratitude to the Founding Rector Suat Günsel who is the mastermind of such a large and meaningful project. He thanked Suat Günsel and stated that he was proud to have made a small contribution to the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art.

The exhibition will remain open to visitors at İrfan Günsel Congress Center Exhibition Hall between 08.00-16.00 on weekdays until 19 July 2019.
