KAR Weekly News Roundup for 25th May 2019

No, Elaine didn’t know her photo was being taken!!!

A snapshot of the Centre, dogs chilling in the sunshine, Management getting a sweat on!!

Please come and visit us, it’s cooler up there!! not much, but cooler!!

This is Magic…..

She so needs a happy ending. Please open your home to her. She has been with us for 4 years. She came in as a tiny kitten, her other siblings got homed and so was she, and she was put on the reserved list. In the meantime we had three other people who would have liked to have given Magic her forever home but she had been reserved.

Last year 2018 we were informed that the person who was going to home her couldn’t, so poor Magic is still at the centre just wanting her forever home and to be loved, that’s all she is asking for.

Let’s make this 4th time lucky!

Robin and Michelle Ketteridge hard at work,

Baloo the Bear…

Day in day out week in week out we deal with cats and dogs – occasionally we become involved with other animals .. but a BEAR!

You may recall we had advertised Name the Teddy … and the winner would get to keep the Teddy Bear. Well on Thursday it was time to open the sealed envelope to reveal his name – Baloo … the Bear. The winner was Yasmin Underwood and here is what she has to say.

“I would just like to thank the KAR Office Angel for encouraging me to enter the competition to find the name of the bear. Kim (from KAR) called me this morning she asked if I could take a long term booking for the cattery – and he is quite large! It never occurred to me that it might be the bear even when she said the boarders name is Baloo – to which I replied, “But that’s a bears name!”. Kim then said “Yes it is and you have won him in the competition”.

I wouldn’t know what to do with a bear – especially such a large teddy bear so I took on KAR’s advice and contacted Claire who helps with the Ziyamet Special Needs School.  So next week I will be passing Baloo over to Claire who is going to take him on a “Teddy Bear’s Picnic” with the children from the Ziyamet School. He will have a very loving home and hopefully bring a big smile to their faces.

Thank you to KAR for all the good work you have done and continue to do”

We are sure that Baloo is looking forward to his new home – he is travel prepped and is all ready to go.   Bye bye Baloo – and to everyone who entered the competition, Thank you.

Sponsor or Rehome a cat…

Following on from the photos of the dogs and the need for sponsorship and rehoming, here are a few of our cats, from the sanctuary at the centre.

They also need sponsoring and homing!! (We are an equal opportunities Centre).
