President Akıncı meets with Lute

President Akıncı received the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres’ Temporary Envoy on the Cyprus problem Jane Holl Lute.

Presidential Spokesman Barış Burcu made a written statement following the meeting said that President Mustafa Akıncı had a fruitful meeting with Lute. He added that during the meeting President Akıncı informed Lute about the constructive initiative the Turkish Cypriot side had taken throughout the negotiation process.

Burcu said: “President Mustafa Akıncı has clearly indicated at the meeting that the Turkish Cypriot side, which always shows a solution-focused and constructive stance during the negotiations, will not be a part of an uncertain, open-ended negotiation process and shared his views regarding the way and methods to be followed from now on.”
