The Municipality of Girne has removed grass, pruned trees, swept the road and collected the waste on the western ring road between Alsancak and Girne,
Girne Municipality conducted this cleaning work on the western ring road between Alsancak and Girne, which is under the responsibility of the Highways Department and in the course of this work, the grass in the central reservation, which divides the road into two, was cleaned with the trees being pruned and the roads were swept and the waste collected.
Girne Mayor Nidai Güngördü stated that there was a visual problem for drivers with the view being impeded due to the growth of the trees and the vegetation which created a road safety hazard.
Nidai Güngördü also pointed out the garbage being thrown from vehicles to the roadsides and central reservations and noted that it is important to teach people not to pollute and spoil the environment. Güngördü also requests that drivers should be sensitive and attentive to the municipality employees when they are doing this type of work.
