The Rotary Club of Kyrenia Cosmopolitan has many projects in hand and one of them is raising funds to help the children of the Special Needs School in Yesilyurt.
We visited the CMC Golf Club last year and as well as learning much about the club and its formation, we also learned of the many events that are held in aid of the Special Needs School which is situated at the rear of the club house. The school was originally the house of Dr Rose of the CMC Hospital (Cengiz Topel Hastanesi) and he dedicated the building as a school for children with special needs. To see this article click here
Rotary Club of Kyrenia Cosmopolitan are starting a project for a workshop for children with special needs at the Yesilyurt School and this has been sponsored by Merit International, so phase one is now commencing and Rotary will be able to fulfil the children’s requirements in the workshop and we look forward to updates on its progress from Gloria Tattersall Rtn, who says “this is an excellent project for Rotary Cosmopolitan. Thank you to Jessics, with their Auctions and Bingo sessions, Ben and Terim for the wonderful music evening in Lefkosia, and all our Golf sponsors”
We have attended Rotary events in the past at Jessics Bar in Karsiyaka and Rotary are also very appreciative of their support in holding fundraising events for this project.
This is a wonderful project to help children with special needs who sadly do not get enough support and funding to enhance their lives except for the assistance given by NGO’s such as Rotary.
