Royal British Legion, Kyrenia Branch, illustrated talk and lunch

By Margaret Sheard …

We have been treated in the past to many interesting talks given by Keith Lloyd and he will be giving another on Wednesday 28th February at Al Shaheen Restaurant in Karakum, entitled “The Knights Templar in Cyprus”.

The event has been arranged by The Royal British Legion, Kyrenia Branch, and will start at 12.30pm, with lunch at 1pm, followed by Keith’s illustrated talk at 1.45pm.  The lunch will be Chicken Curry or Fish and Chips, 40TL per person, from which a donation will be made to the RBL 2018 Poppy Appeal.   To book lunch please call Imtiaz on 0392 815 7390

The picture shown on the poster is the Knights Templar Chapel of St John: One of the ‘Twin Towers’ in the Old City of Famagusta.  From the early 13th Century: Recently restored; currently used by the Cyprus Arts Association.

  1. Hello, I’m looking for a long lost friend with I joined the Royal Air Force (43rd Entry Boy Entrants, RAF St Athan) in May 1961. After 18 months training, we departed St Athan posted to various Units throughout the UK. The person I am looking for is John Flood who came from Paisley in Scotland.

I was posted to 103 MU, Akrotiri in 1964 until 1967 and I know that John was also stationed at Akrotiri around 1964/65. I then lost contact with him and appear to have lost him altogether.

We are having a reunion in June this year and John is the last person of the group to be found. If you can help in any way in tracing him me and my colleagues would be eternally grateful.

My nam is Morris Brand and I live in Kelty, Scotland. I can be located via email – morris.brand@btinternet.com or by telephone – 07939 177967.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Morris Brand
