North Cyprus Events Calendar from 15th February 2018

A list of events you can look forward to in North Cyprus. For those charity fund-raisers, venues etc. who would like to include an event in the Weekly Events Calendar, contact Chris or Margaret at cyprusscene.com.

The Events Calendar is published every week on Thursday so please try to submit information you would like to be included by Tuesday evening each week.

The North Cyprus Forum events calendar is now incorporated on the cyprusscene website where you can register as a member and post your own events.

There is a Duplicate Bridge Club every Monday at The Watermill Hotel, Girne and they are looking to encourage new members, so if you would like to join please contact Susan for further details. lidokibris@yahoo.co.uk

SeAngle Bar in Catalkoy will be holding Tai chi for seniors (old people classes!) health and relaxation and strengthens mind and body. No need to stand, you can sit on a chair. Every Friday at 10.15am from 2^nd February. 15TL.

Movie Night at Karpaz Gate Marina. Every Tuesday throughout the winter season, Karpaz Gate Marina hosts Movie Night. Tickets cost 5TL and the film starts at 7pm. Visitors to the marina are invited to book a table at Hemingway’s Resto-Bar from 5pm-7pm to enjoy a Pre-Cinema Menu. The Pre-Cinema Menu and a ticket to see the film costs 45TL. 25^th January to 23^rd February

Art exhibition at Near East University Hospital exhibition hall. The exhibition aims to bring to light the old works of the old generation Turkish Cypriot artists. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Sibel Siber on 25th January and will remain open for the visitors until 23rd February 2018.

The speaker will be Robin Melhuish author of ‘All that remains’, ‘The Quiet Way‘ and ‘April Fool’s Day’. Back to School with KAR at Club Tropicana, Ozankoy. Assembly – 7.30pm SHARP, School uniform compulsory (Ms Ballbreaker will deduct house points!). School dinner – 40TL with 10TL being donated to KAR. To book call 0542 851 1924. This sounds like a real fun evening.

26^th February – Monday

112 Quiz at Acmenya Restaurant in Alsancak with more of Richard’s quirky questions and a delicious chicken or vegetarian supper for 25TL per person. The Olive Press Bowls Club, Lapta will be holding a quiz night in aid of KTW (Karsiyaka Turtle Watch) starting at 5pm. 5tl per person for the quiz and also there is a Brainbuster Question that rolls over each month until someone gets the correct answer, that is an optional buy at 5tl as well. Tickets are £35 per head, to include show, a 2 course set meal and all Beer, Wine and soft drinks, and will be available from early March, from the Bestseller book shops in Alsancak and Karakum. Totally Tina (Justine) well be donating her fee to a charity that helps women who have been trafficked, and the CESV will be organising a Money Tree to raise funds for their essential operations.

RBL Poppy Gala at the Savoy Ottoman Palace Hotel, Girne. Entertainment will be by Sarah Jayne and Andy Crust. Ticket price to be confirmed and more information will be coming later.

Supper Club event at the Colony Garden, Girne – Bee Gees show “Stayin’ Alive”. Event in aid of the Civil Emergency Service Volunteers (CESV). More information later.

15^th September – Saturday

The King Is Back 2018 World Tour, an international Las Vegas style Elvis show, with 10 musicians and vocalists on stage, plus the incomparable Ben Portsmouth as Elvis.
