From Wendy Anderson…
NCCCT Chairperson

Hello everyone

We are not quite at the end of the year but not far off. What a time we have had this year with lots of changes taking place within the charity.

Some of the loyal committee decided it was their time to take a step back, but thankfully they are still there for us when we need good advice and a helping hand.

We have a new team of Volunteers and we all work together so well and all believe and care for the charity. How we work so hard together is proof of that.

Heartbeat was closed at the end of January and we managed to reopen it on 20th March after doing many much needed jobs to it and thank you everyone who “mucked” in with us and helped us with this mammoth task.

Since Heartbeat was reopened it has become so busy with donations and sales that we often find it hard to keep up but it is all GOOD for the charity.

Our other shop the little Hut goes from strength to strength and the takings of both shops have gone up considerably.

The events this year – where do we start?

NCCCT Coffee mornings

From January we have held Coffee mornings at The Savoy Hotel, Mountain View Hotel, Panta Restaurant and the Malpas Hotel. Thank you all for being our hosts and caring for our charity.

Over the Easter period we held events at the Black Olive, Ela Bar at Tolga’s and The Wild Duck. Thank you all for being our hosts and caring for our charity.

In May we were lucky to be chosen again as the charity of the night at the Mega TIGA Party in Lefkosia. By allowing us to hold a raffle at their party for their clients we raised over 15,500 TL. Tony, Ozner and all of the Tiga family we thank you for caring for our charity.

In June we “borrowed” the amphitheatre in Girne and The Blackburns People Choir performed a concert for us. We held a picnic by the sea and it was such a beautiful evening. We would like to thank Girne Beledeyise and The Blackburns People Choir for caring for our charity.

Our first Halloween Party was hosted by the Wild Duck in Lapta. Lots of fun and games, which we and the young guests loved. Thank you Emma and everyone at the Wild Duck for caring for our charity.

We held our first Christmas Party in November at the Fez in Catalkoy. We had amazing entertainment by Sadie, Dave Mancini and Dominic Holmes. Hayle and all the Staff looked after us so well. Thank you everyone for caring about our charity.

Can Gazi, Christmas elf

Our Christmas Fayre and market held at the Pia Bella in Girne was our last event of the year. Huge thanks to everyone who helped us with this especially Santa, our Mother Christmas, her Little Elf, and Werner our Music man. Thank you all for caring about our charity.

To everyone who has given us Raffle prizes throughout the year and to all of you that have helped us in anyway at any of these events thank you for caring about our charity.

We did not mean to write a book but as you can see we have had a busy time, hard work, but all worthwhile.

All it takes now is to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year.

Both shops Heartbeat and The Hut will be closed on 25th/26th December and 1st/2nd January, but apart from that we are OPEN for business as usual.
