NCCCT Starlite Singalong
The Olive Press, Lapta
December 2016
By nccctsecretary…
About 60 people enjoyed a terrific performance by Starlite at The Olive Press, Lapta on Monday, 19th December 2016. The event raised an amazing 2,222TL! It was great to see so many people enjoying themselves, singing along and dancing, whilst raising money to help a good cause.
The star prize in the raffle was a seven-night stay in a two-bedroomed apartment at Flamingo Resort, Bodrum, which was generously donated by Alan and Irene Matthews from Lapta. The winner was Sally Miller, who was absolutely delighted with her prize.
Other prizes in the raffle included a festive box of biscuits, bottles of red, white and sparkling wine, Thorntons chocolates, liqueur chocolates, a meal for two at Cafe George, a lantern donated by Dee and a ceramic plaque donated by Sara.
The delicious mulled wine, mince pies and cupcakes were made by Carole Shanley. Carole also made a beautiful gingerbread house, which she presented to Frankie Haigh. Frankie was thrilled to bits, especially when she discovered that the gingerbread house was full of sweets too.
Thank you to Starlite for making time in their busy lives to perform free of charge for the North Cyprus Cancer Charity Trust (NCCCT). Thanks also to everyone who attended, and of course a huge thanks to Carole Shanley for all her hard work.
Finally, our thanks to The Olive Press, Lapta for hosting the event and to Lee and Rachael, who did a terrific job behind the bar.
Excellent and just like fine wine, the news from NCCCT just keeps on getting better
