Children in Need Foundation
Billy J Redif at Mountain View Hotel
By Margaret Sheard…..
We have received news from Pam Schofield of a charity event for the Children in Need Foundation (CiNF) which is to be held at the Mountain View Hotel, Karaoğlanoğlu on Tuesday 1st March, with entertainment by Billy J Redif.
The event is being held to raise funds to help with publishing a children’s book called Joshua’s Woodland Adventures – written by Bill Haley of Catalkoy. He approached Pam when he was looking for someone to do some illustrations and she agreed to see what she could do. Well the book and the illustrations are now ready to publish, and just waiting for the Turkish translation, which is being done so it is hoped to be able to offer it in both languages. All funds from the sale of this book will be going to the Children in Need Foundation. Mally Torris is helping to get it off the ground and it is hoped to get it into print soon. Pam and Mally will be talking about it on BRTK on The Main Event and A Cup of Conversation programmes in the near future.
On Tuesday the 1st of March, there will be a special buffet night at the Mountain View Hotel in Karaoğlanoğlu in aid of the Children in Need charity. The guest entertainer on the night will be the fantastic Billy J Redif, who is visiting the island for a couple of weeks, and has offered his services for this worthwhile cause. Billy J is a very versatile singer and guitarist, with songs from every era, to suit every age group! There will be additional music from DJ Mike as well. A raffle will be held on the night with some fantastic prizes.
Tickets are now available at a cost of 55TL each. This price includes a buffet style meal, which will be served at 7.30 prompt. The Mountain View buffet is always good, but Sue has promised to ‘go the extra mile’ on this occasion.
You can buy tickets directly from Pam Schofield, at her art stall at the Lemar market in Catalkoy on Saturday mornings, or ring the following numbers – DJ Mike on 0533 830 5374, Pam on 0533 830 5375, Mally Torris on 0533 853 9499
With the sad passing of Terry Wogan today, I’m sure everyone attending will be SO GENEROUS – please. Jo
