Foreign Minister Nami continues his contacts in Saudi Arabia
Minister of Foreign Affairs – Özdil Nami is continuing his contacts in Saudi Arabia. Attending the 41st Session of OIC Council of Foreign
Ministers, FM Nami met with OIC Secretary General Iyad Amen Medeni yesterday.
Within the framework of his contacts in Jeddah, Nami also met with the Director General of Islamic Center for Development of Trade (ICDT) – Dr. El Hassane Hzaine, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Sultanate of Oman – Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Integration in the Republic of Chad – Moussa Faki Mahamat and the Head of Azerbaijan delegation – Aksin Mehdiyev yesterday (18th June).
The issues regarding cooperation in the fields of economy, culture and trade were discussed during bilateral meetings in Jeddah.
Moreover, FM Nami informed his collocutors about the latest developments of in the Cyprus problem and the Turkish Cypriot side’s point of view for the process.

2nd President Talat gives conference in South Cyprus
2nd President Mehmet Ali Talat gave his third confere
nce in the course of five months at Nicosia University in South Cyprus yesterday.
Speaking during the conference, former President Talat said that the sides understanding each other’s positions is very important for reaching a solution but the main reason of not reaching a solution in Cyprus is the lack of political will.
Moreover, stressing that all sides should cooperate to reach a solution in the island, Talat said “Solution to be reached will not only strengthen relations between Turkey, Greece, Cyprus and Israel but will strengthen relations with the EU too. Cyprus will get advantage of this situation”.
