Fundraising Coffee Morning

Last Saturday I was invited to an event organized by the ladies of the TFR / Karaman Village Cemetery Working Group which was held in aid of the Cemetery Chapel restoration.

The Coffee Morning at the home of TFR-member Christa Bealing attracted many visitors. There was coffee and tea as well as a very large selection of cakes and other goodies, such as hot cross buns, a special kind of teacake which is a tradition especially in the UK for Good Friday and Easter.

The guests present voluntarily donated money for the renovation of the chapel. As a small compensation, they received raffle-tickets and some of the donors did win a few small prizes in the draw at the end of the event.

The amount of donations totaled 1096TL, which now can be used for pending restoration measures.

A thanks to the organizers who have invested a lot of time and effort.
