It was almost one year ago that I wrote an article about the Phoenix Line Dance Club and their last Line Dance Party for Christmas. I think it was my first article for this site and in general the first article in my entire life! Many articles have since followed, and I’m glad because I have discovered a passion since then!
That’s why I liked to say “Yes” when Steve and Denise Bisson, founders of the Phoenix LDC and members of the Foreign Residents in the TRNC, again invited me to attend their last show act of 2013.

My girlfriend and I were at the appointed time in the Acmenya Restaurant in Alsancak to attend the “Phoenix dinner”.
I must now publish something that has nothing to do with line dancing, but what impressed me very positively. Steve had told me previously that there would be a 3 course meal with soup, meze, main dishes and dessert for 20 TL per person. I thought for this price the quality might not be too good. So I had no great expectations. But what was offered at the Acmenya Restaurant was fantastic! I gave up the soup and took a selection of very delicious Meze (typical Cypriot appetizers). My Pork Chop as a main course was not only big, but very very tasty and served with roast potatoes and vegetables, everything fitting for the heart and the stomach! I can only say, highly recommended! Chapeau Acmenya!
But back to the line dance .
After all participants were satisfied the dance event begun, as always choreographed and led by Steve and Denise .
All participants of the evening , dancers and spectators enjoyed!
A highlight of the whole event was the presentation of a great gift basket by the Phoenix members to the two heads of the troupe. This shows that the dancers are grateful to have these extraordinary coaches.
But Steve and Denise not only give weekly lessons during year, they also organize many social events, Charity Quiz Nights, Country Music Specials, public appearances and trips for the members. Overall, around 50 events in 2013! What a performance by this couple! Hats off!
Of course not only the weekly dance classes are planned again for 2014, but again the recurring social events and trips together, and there are plans to go to Holland, Germany and Turkey.
