NCCCT Coffee Morning
The Lodge, Ҫatalköy
By Margaret Sheard
Tuesday, 11th June saw the last NCCCT Coffee Morning until after the heat of the summer and this was held at The Lodge in Ҫatalköy where around 140 people turned up to give their support to the charity.
The event was held outside in the nice grassy garden area of The Lodge and there were plenty of stalls selling their wares and shaded areas for people to sit and enjoy their coffee and cake and catch up with the local news. I noticed a new stall there this time selling indoor/outdoor ornaments and being a cat lover I bought 2 stone cats for my garden and later a lizard that Chris rather liked, all very reasonably priced, so I will have to look out for this stall again when the coffee mornings re-commence in September.
Big-hearted Mike Alican was there on behalf of the Committee, welcoming everyone and making sure that all that should happen, did happen. We also spotted Carole Lloyd with her raffle tickets and her usual persuasive charm encouraging people to donate for a chance in the raffle.
Angela Hasman (Chairman) and Pauline Collins (Vice Chairman) later started the raffle, before which Angela thanked Keith Ellor who organised a Christmas Day swim at Kervansaray Beach and had raised the splendid sum of 1,837TL for NCCCT.
The raffle was drawn and there were some nice prizes to be won. In addition to the generous donation from the Christmas Day swim, the result for the coffee morning was 2,461TL so another successful event for NCCCT.
So the Committee and supporters of NCCCT are now taking a well-earned break during the next 2 hot summer months and they look forward to seeing everyone again when they resume in September.
