MINISTER OF ENERGY AND NATURAL RESOURCES YILDIZ: “SUSTAINABLE POLICY IS TRANSFERRING GAS FROM ISRAEL OR SOUTH CYRUS TO EUROPE VIA TURKEY”

TR Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Taner Yıldız, said that: “Sustainable policy is transferring gas from Israel or South Cyprus to Europe via Turkey. Regarding the co-Taner Yildiz 3operation with South Cyprus, the TRNC’s right over these resources is a must for us.  We believe that South Cyprus will be in a positive mood.  If energy is a reason for peace not tension, we believe the energy will be used as a means of peace also in this issue.”

Yıldız answered the questions related to agenda on ‘Teke Tek’ TV program on Habertürk TV.

Yıldız emphasized that regarding the energy projects about Israel and South Cyprus, the energy projects with Israel could only be the reason of a result not the excuse.

Yıldız pointed out that in order for a project to be feasible technically it should also be feasible politically..

BILD: “GREEK CYPRIOTS DECEIVED US”

Based upon a secret report of the European Council, German newspaper ‘Bild’ claimed that South Cyprus deceived Germany regarding black money laundering. Giving a wide coverage to the news published in ‘Bild’ the Greek Cypriot press wrote that in a secret report of the European Commission it wasEuropean Union logo stressed that ‘ Mass black money laundering was being conducted’ at South Cyprus banks.

According to the news it was expressed in the mentioned report that experts from the European Commission went to South Cyprus in March in order to investigate 390 accounts of over 2 billion Euros and stated: “ Mass black money laundering is being conducted at Cyprus banks”.

The newspaper also wrote that it was identified in the investigation that 12 thousand companies out of 14 thousand were companies that were involved in tax evasion.

‘Bild’ commented that the mentioned report was proof of how the Greek Cypriot politicians were liars and the reason why Germany should not approve the loan agreement’.
