10th Orchid Walk – 2013

Cancer Research Fund (KAV), Cyprus and Pro-cancer Research Fund (PCRF), UK are organizing the 10th Orchid Walk for 24th February 2013 with the main sponsorship coming from Turkish Ai3 Volunteers in discussion smlrlines (THY). A variety of events will be held during the 20th to 24th February and are being organized by volunteers who have established committees after a series of meetings. KAV authorities are looking for 1000 attendees in 2013, with 650 attending last year. For this purpose buses supported by various universities from all regions (Nicosia, Kyrenia, Famagusta, Guzelyurt) are being arranged to bring people to the event.

The event series will start with Orchid Walk-kids “Archeo-tenté Project” developed by Demet Karsili, a KAV volunteer. The Project aims to give the children the awareness of healthy living using Cyprus history and nature. The kids will reflect their thoughts and feelings of the event in the form of drawings that will be exhibited on 18th May 2013,  the Archeology and Museum day and be sold to raise funding for KAV.
