The 12th running of the Creditwest Car Treasure Hunt, will be on Sunday 23rd April 2017. The Charity benefitting from the event will be The Civil Emergency Service Volunteers (CESV).
The Creditwest Car Treasure Hunt is intended to be a leisurely scenic tour with a challenging set of clues and the answers will be found along the route. The event starts at the Kitchen Restaurant Çatalköy and will take participants on a trip to the East and South of Kyrenia using roads which, hopefully, will provide them with a different view of Northern Cyprus. There are various places along the route to stop to take in the view or take a break. This is not a speed event, there will be no prizes for getting to the finish venue first !
The route is on tarmac roads, some of the roads are mountainous with drops, blind bends and narrow sections. Participants should please check that they and their passengers are comfortable with this.
The route instructions will be given out at check-in at the Kitchen, along with the testing set of questions that will tax the participants’ powers of observation and knowledge of the island.
The route is defined in a rally style notebook using “Tulip diagrams”. The questions for each section will be listed in a separate book. Distances will be calibrated in miles/kilometres using a standard odometer. The road book contains instructions on how to understand and use these diagrams.
Check in at the Kitchen will be from 9.00 AM, The start will be from 9.30 AM, coffee and breakfast can be purchased as usual.
The finish will be in the general area of Esentepe at around 1.30pm. Lunch has been kindly provided by Creditwest Bank.
Creditwest Bank will be providing Trophies for the three teams which complete the whole route and which have the most correct answers to the road book questions. There will be the General Knowledge Tiebreaker Quiz after the lunch which is for all teams and for which there is a separate Trophy. The prize giving will be held after lunch and there will be a raffle and an auction for other prizes.
