Mağusa Kale Lions Club celebrated Teachers’ Day together with the Teachers and Staff at Karakol Primary School in Gazimağusa. Brunch was organised by the club especially for the teachers to show our appreciation for their dedicated work with children. This special day brought a close connection between the school teachers and many of our Lion Club members who are now retired teachers.
After brunch and awards ceremony was held for winners of the “My Teacher” poetry competition organised by Mağusa Kale Lions a week ago. Plaques were presented by club members for the best poems by contestants in each year. Closing the event, beautiful poems were read and gifts and flowers were given to teachers by the pupils.

On the 15th of November celebrating the 34th Year of the founding of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Mağusa Kale Lions Clubs and two of the international twinning Clubs, Dalyan Marina Lions and Üsküdar Lions Clubs from 118Y District Turkey, held a Chess tournament in memory of Ln.Erol Gürler founder of the North Cyprus Lions Clubs Federation and Ln. Hüdaverdi Ekemen Mağusa Kale Lions 1st Club President.
In collaboration with Gazimağusa Municipality and Cancer Patients Assistance Association, Mağusa Kale Lions Club, went on a Breast Cancer Awareness March which was held on the 27th of October 2017 in Gazimağusa for the October Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
One of The Lions Clubs International priorities is to voluntarily screen eyesight and help treat vision. Dedicated Lions all over the world focus even more on the topic during the 9th-15th of October “World Sight Week”.
