Since we last visited the Mağusa Kale Lions Club Facebook page (click here) they have continued with further activities which we are pleased to be able to show below.
Sun, Sea & Sand equals Lions Clubs International Sand Castle Competition.
This fun activity’s participants included young children, teens, adults and tourists from other countries visiting our beautiful golden sandy beaches.
We must admit the Lions and Leo’s were just as excited for this activity as the participants!

Diabetes is a global epidemic, affecting an increasing number of men, women, and children all over the world. As Lions and Leos, we see and feel the effects of diabetes in our communities and are doing something about it together.

Diabetes can lead to serious diseases affecting the heart and blood vessels, eyes, kidneys, nerves and teeth. In most high-income countries, diabetes is a leading cause of cardiovascular disease, blindness, kidney failure, and lower limb amputation. It is expected to affect 629 million adults by 2045.

Lions Clubs training helps us gain more knowledge and confidence in our duties as a Lion. We attended the training course given to all the clubs under North Cyprus Lions Clubs Federation.

Here is one of our favourite activities in the year! Caretta Caretta Sea Turtles are under protection here on the island of Cyprus.
We joined the Eastern Mediterranean University Underwater Biologists Marine Department, Professor Mr Burak Ali Çiçek, and his team for the exciting journey of the release of the newly hatched baby sea turtles along with Iskele Sahil Leo Club.

Protecting our environment is one of our main duties as Lions. Together with İskele Sahil Lions Club and Iskele Sahil Leo Club we joined forces with İskele Belediyesi to clean a local beach to prepare for the release of newly hatched baby Caretta Caretta Sea Turtles into the beautiful Mediterranean Sea.
