TRNC News 22.9.2017 Akıncı: “Another 50 years cannot be wasted without a solution”

President Mustafa Akıncı, who is in New York attending a series of working meetings during the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, gave a speech at the Presidium meeting in the UN Centre yesterday. Greek President of the Socialist International Yorgos Papandreou and his Vice-President were also in attendance.

Two wonderful people who were the founders of the Facebook page Frozen Cypriots have been back in their homeland discovering more of our Cyprus Heritage and in my Vox Pop show I went with my camera team to the Buyuk Han in Lefkosa to meet them and a fascinating group of people who also refer to themselves as being the “Frozen Cypriots”.

Hope 4 Pets is a registered animal rescue charity in England and Wales in the UK and also here in the TRNC and they will be holding a celebration party at The Courtyard Inn, Karakum on Friday 15th September 6:30pm with entertainment by Brian Delaney and Mr ‘James’ Smile.

To mark the 8th September “World Literacy Day”, we the Mağusa Kale Lions Club and Mağusa Mesaray Lions visited the young children attending the Petit Baby Montessori School for a Storytelling Hour.

President Mustafa Akıncı met with Prime Minister Hüseyin Özgürgün and Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Serdar Denktaş yesterday (12^th September), as part of a series of working meetings ahead of his official visit to New York.
