Commemoration for Martyr Journalist Adem Yavuz on the Cyprus Green Line
A commemoration for Martyr Journalist Adem Yavuz was held on the Cyprus Green Line, honouring his legacy and remembering his contribution to journalism.

Adem Yavuz, Martyr Journalist, Remembered with Honour

A commemoration ceremony was held in memory of Turkish journalist Adem Yavuz, who came to Cyprus from Türkiye to cover the second phase of the Cyprus Peace Operation in 1974 and was martyred following an attack by Greek Cypriots.

The ceremony was held at the site in Küçük Kaymaklı where Yavuz was attacked, located within the intermediate zone under the control of the United Nations.

Representatives of the Martyrs’ Families and Disabled Veterans Association, the Retired Non-Commissioned Officers Association of the Security Forces Command, the Retired Police Officers Association, Sönmezliler Ocağı, the Cyprus Turkish Retired Officers Association and the Turkish Resistance Organization (TMT) Mujahideen Association attended the ceremony along with the President and representatives of the Foreign Press Association.
