Mehmet Musa training for his next challenge
We always enjoy hearing from our readers when they share their news and achievements with us. It is especially rewarding when those stories continue to develop, and we can bring further updates to our audience.
We have recently received exciting news from London-born Turkish Cypriot strongman Mehmet Musa, whose remarkable endurance achievements captured widespread attention earlier this year.
Following his officially recognised world record success, Mehmet has now revealed plans for an even more demanding challenge that will test both his physical and mental limits.
A Record-Breaking Journey
Many readers will remember our April coverage of Mehmet’s incredible achievement, when he completed a gruelling 300kg Farmers Walk for 60 consecutive days in Islington, London.
What initially began as a 60-day challenge ultimately evolved into something even greater. Mehmet continued for a total of 90 consecutive days without rest, resulting in a combined world record encompassing two separate challenges.
The achievement attracted considerable media attention and recognition. Northern Cyprus state broadcaster BRT1 featured Mehmet live on television, while Turkish news channel World Turk TV also covered the story.
Speaking about the support he received, Mehmet said:
“The incredible support from the CyprusScene community and the wider TRNC diaspora following your article truly meant the world to me as I honour my family roots in Gazimağusa and İskele.”
A New Mountain to Climb
Not one to rest on his achievements, Mehmet has already turned his attention to an even more ambitious goal.
He has officially stepped up his training programme with the aim of completing a staggering 400kg sled pull every day for 30 consecutive days.
If successful, the challenge would represent another extraordinary display of strength, endurance and determination, pushing beyond the limits achieved during his previous world record campaign.
The training phase is now underway as Mehmet prepares both physically and mentally for the demanding task ahead.
A Proud Ambassador for Turkish Cypriots
As a London-born Turkish Cypriot athlete, Mehmet continues to inspire people both in the United Kingdom and Northern Cyprus through his determination and commitment to excellence.
His achievements not only demonstrate exceptional personal resilience but also highlight the strong connections many members of the Turkish Cypriot community maintain with their family roots and heritage.

We would like to thank Mehmet for once again sharing his news with our readers and giving CyprusScene and Peterborough Wide Horizons an exclusive first look at this exciting new chapter.
We wish him every success with his training and look forward to bringing readers further updates as he progresses towards this monumental 400kg challenge.
