TFR CHAIRMAN HORST GUTOWSKI PASSED AWAY
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Horst Gutowski, Chairman of TFR (The Foreign Residents in the TRNC).
Horst was a deeply respected gentleman, a true friend to many, and someone who gave so much of himself to the community over the years. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, his partner Heidi, and all who knew him.

I am devastated to tell the membership that my friend and colleague for decades, our highly esteemed TFR Chairman for many years, Horst Gutowski, passed away last Wednesday, 8th April 2026, in Girne State Hospital after a short illness.
I personally have never met a more kindly, friendly, and understanding gentleman than Horst. And all people who met him will agree.
The only consolation we have is that he did not have to suffer for long.
Our sincerest condolences to his family, his partner Heidi, and all his friends.
You will never be forgotten, RIP my friend.
FUNERAL DETAILS…
After consulting Horst Gutowski’s sons and partner, it was decided that his funeral will be held on Wednesday, 15th April 2026 at 11.00 am, at Lapta International Cemetery.
The service will be held by Celebrant Rosie Anstey.
It would have been his wish that the mourners wear casual clothes…
It would also have been his decision that, instead of flowers, donations for the TRNC cancer charities Tulips and Heartbeat are welcome. A donation box will be provided at the cemetery.
There will be a short farewell afterwards, and invitations will be communicated at the funeral service.
There will be a live-stream of the ceremony at 11.00 am local Cypriot time in the case you are not able to attend the service on Wednesday. There will be a guest book attached to the live-stream where people can leave their messages for the family.
