Feza Aygın Sanıvar takes first place at Paper Days Festival in Yalova
“I was invited to the Paper Days Festival in Yalova, Turkey between April 5-7 where I exhibited my handmade papers that I made in Cyprus (from orange tree fibers, Cemile flower, molehiya plant, cabbage, reed, mulberry tree, lemon and straw) as well as my works made from my papers. During the festival, I provided information about my paper to the visitors as a Cypriot artist.

I explained what we can make paper from, as a result of my research in Cyprus. I introduced Birki paper with the samples I put on my stand. In Yalova, they mostly make paper with cotton fabric, waste paper, and plant fibers.
With these observations, we saw different papers being shown together. It was a very nice experience.
I also had the opportunity to see Ottoman paper up close.
I am proud and happy to bring my first-place award back to my country in the competition held on April 7, 2025, on paper art, and I am still under the influence of that memorable moment. This was the best news for me on this paper journey I have been researching for years.”
