Arikli We Aim To Start Seaplane Transportation Next Season
TRNC Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı stated that thanks to the Anamur Ferry and Seaplane Pier, which was opened the previous day, the distance between Kyrenia and Anamur will be reduced to one and a half hours by sea bus, and that they aim to start seaplane transportation next season.
Minister Arıklı stated that the fact that Anamur Ferry and Seaplane Pier can also serve seaplanes is the main factor that excites him and said, “For a long time, we have not been able to respond positively to applications to operate seaplanes in terms of technical and legislation. Now, we aim to address this issue immediately and pave the way for transportation by seaplanes for the next season.”

Anamur Ferry and Seaplane Pier, built by the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, was put into service with the official opening ceremony held the previous day. The ceremony was attended by Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Environment and Youth Fikri Ataoğlu, Mersin Governor Ali Hamza Pehlivan and many high-level officials.

Are we actually talking about seaplanes here, or is it a ‘Google translate’ issue and we are actually meaning a Seacat (fast ferry, basically).
Be good to be clear on this point
Hello, Ian thats a good question I have tried to check if the translation is correct a number of ways and was getting seaplane.
I even asked Bing Ai what the new service was from Turkey to the TRNC and it was going on about seaplanes as a BRILLIANT new means of transport????.
The Ministry website refers to DENİZ UÇAĞI (Sea Plane) ARIKLI: ÖNÜMÜZDEKİ SEZON DENİZ UÇAĞI ULAŞIMINI BAŞLATMAYI HEDEFLİYORUZ
