North Cyprus Potters Association’s “Untitled” Exhibition
Message from Bedia Kale, President North Cyprus Potters Association.
The North Cyprus Potters Association is organizing its traditional Annual Members Exhibition and Artistic Activities which has a different concept every year. This year, the fifteenth edition of the exhibition is being realized in collaboration with the Cultural Department and Atatürk Vocational High School, with contributions from the Culture Department. The Art Event, titled “Untitled,” will take place, at the same time as the Members Exhibition, from January 17 to 26, 2024. There will be ceramic workshops and seminars on February 20, 23, and 26, 2024, engaging art enthusiasts.
Announcing the event, the President of the North Cyprus Potters Association, Bedia Kale, expressed gratitude for the contributions of the Cultural Department and the collaboration with Atatürk Vocational High School. She emphasized the association’s goal to continue its efforts to enhance interest and awareness in ceramic art throughout 2024 through exhibitions and practical activities. The association has chosen the concept “Untitled” for this year’s first event. “Untitled” signifies being without a title or name. Artists use this title to present their original creations, reflecting their free emotions and thoughts, without adhering to a specific theme or concept, in order to remain unrestricted and free.
The first part of the event, the XV. Member’s “Untitled” Exhibition, will start on January 17, 2023, Wednesday, at 18:30 in the Atatürk Cultural Centre’s Grand Exhibition Hall in Lefkoşa. The exhibition will be open to art enthusiasts during office hours until January 26, 2023. Then, on February 20, 2023, our Association’s Founding Member and Vice President Semral Öztan will conduct a practical workshop on “Luster Ceramic Firing.” On February 23, 2024, our Association Member and Dean of the Faculty of Arts at World Peace University, Associate Professor Dr. Eser Keçeci, will present a seminar on “Printing on Ceramics.” Finally, on February 26, 2024, our Association Member and ARUCAD Instructor Mümine Özdemirağ Yağlı will lead a presentation and workshop on “Traditional Lapta Ceramics,” taking place at the Atatürk Vocational High School in Lefkoşa.
The North Cyprus Potters Association invites all art enthusiasts to join our event. Individuals interested in ceramic art who wish to participate in the workshops can contact the association at 05338475588 to register and attend the events.
