Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kudret Özersay who has been holding various contacts in Geneva, Switzerland, talked about his contacts to BRT news.
Stating that the South Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Greek Representative Office in Geneva had made initiatives to cancel their contacts by sending letters to all institutions at the UN and indicated that they have been trying to make their contacts in confidence.
Stressing that no one will be able to turn down the voice of Turkish Cypriot people Özersay qualified the attitude of the Greek Cypriot side as being outdated.
Özersay said: “Trying to prevent our voice to be heard, for other people to learn our thoughts, arguments and position is an outdated approach in our view. However we will never quit. We will continue our contacts at which time we will make clear our position, demands and worries as the TRNC authorities. We will not let them turn down our voice. If this requires a longer struggle in the long term we are ready for this. We will continue to make our voice heard abroad. No one will be able to turn down the Turkish Cypriot people’s voice.”
