EMU represented in “International Relations in the Age of Anxiety”

The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) was recently represented in the International conference organised in the University of Belgrade by the Central and East European International Studies Association (CEEISA) and the International Studies Association (ISA).

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen, CPC Research Assistant Devrim Şahin  and Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuray Ibryamova, represented the Eastern Mediterranean University, delivered presentations. The title of the conference was “International Relations in the Age of Anxiety”.

Şahin and Prof. Dr. Sözen delivered a presentation entitled “Third Wave of Authoritarianism” during the panel entitled “Should We Think of Democracies Differently?” In the “Historical International Relations” panel Şahin delivered a presentation on “The World Logic of Westphalia Law after Westphalia”. Asst. Prof. Dr. Ibryamova delivered a presentation on “Populism and National Identity in Bulgaria” during the panel entitled “Understanding Comparative Populism”

The 4 day international conference brought together academicians and students from many different countries. During the 4 day period Prof. Dr. Sözen and Şahin promoted the new EMU Department of Political Science and International Relations Diplomacy and Conflict Management Master’s program by displaying posters and handing out brochures at the University of Belgrade Rector’s Office and Faculty of Political Sciences.
