Due to the condition of some of the surfaces at various Stadiums, the Kuzey Kibris Turkish Football Federation took the unprecedented step of cancelling all of last weekend’s scheduled FA Cup and BTM League matches.
Some of the surfaces especially around the Güzelyurt and Bostancı areas are in bad condition due to the recent flooding there.
However this did not stop teams preparing for the second half of the season in arranging friendly matches. A lot of the matches were played on synthetic surfaces but some Clubs (Esentepe included) risked further damage to their pitches by playing.
Weather permitting the Cup matches will be played on the weekend of January 26 and 27. The League programme resumes on February 2 and 3.
