By Margaret Sheard …
We are so keen to help Hope 4 Pets to be able to continue with their wonderful work of caring for the stray, abandoned and injured dogs and cats of North Cyprus.
As I seemed to have problems setting up a standing order online, we decided it would be much easier to make a regular cash donation at their stall at the Lemar Wednesday market in Catalkoy, and so we visited this week to do just that on behalf of CyprusScene.com, which is a personal donation as the website/e.newspaper are non-commercial.
This may be an easier option for a lot of people and Hope 4 Pets will be so grateful for any amount which can be donated to raise the funding they desperately need to cover veterinary bills, and care for the unfortunate animals which come to them.
At the stall were Barbara Burton, Karen Lain, Sarah Heffernan, and other volunteers who give so much of their time to Hope 4 Pets. Also we were greeted by Frodo, a lovely dog who was rescued and cared for by Hope 4 Pets, he is so well behaved and a credit to the charity.
The stall had a vast array of items for sale and it made us realise how much these volunteers do with the unloading, unpacking and arranging and then going through the same process at the end of the market, as well as the time they spend there every week.
The market is under cover in the Lemar, Catalkoy, car park and is held every Wednesday morning until around 1pm. There are many stalls selling a variety of items so it is well worth a visit, and hopefully there will be something at the Hope 4 Pets stall which will catch the eye.
We were pleased to catch up with Stephanie Harrison-Croft and her husband Bill, who had been dashing around all morning and they arrived at the stall to thank the volunteers and see how the stall had done that day.
