KAR news for week ending 12th October 2018

As always Kyrenia Animal Rescue (KAR) are busy looking after the stray and abandoned animals of North Cyprus and here is their news for week ending 12th October.

3 Days per week at the Cat Sanctuary in Arapkoy

We need someone at the Centre (Arapkoy) to work within our cat sanctuary. Saturday, Sunday and Monday (3 days per week). If you can help, please call the office 0533 869 4098 or email at

Re-homing in USA

KAR are trying hard to arrange for 6 dogs to be re-homed in the USA but this is going to be an expensive exercise and they are doing everything they can to raise funds for Coco, Lambsy, Mumble, Polo, Leika and Wonka,  one of which is a Bingo and Karaoke evening at The Corner House in Ozankoy  on Saturday 20th October.

The Corner House Ozankoy are hosting an evening for KAR on Saturday October 20th. There will  bingo (3 types!) and Terry’s Karaoke and Music.

Food will also be available on the night.

Why not come along and join in the fun – come just for the bingo (books on sale at 7pm – eyes down 7.30pm), or come along for the music and karaoke or just for a drink and to enjoy the night.

KAR Shops

As from 15th October, there will be new winter stock at Gladrags in Karakum and the No.1 shop in Girne.   Lots of winter bargains will be available.

Student Visit

40 young students from Year 3 GAU School arrived to meet the dogs and cats at the Rescue Centre. The children were very excited to see the animals and to hear about how KAR cared for them, why they were here with us and what will happen for their future. In celebration of World Animal Day the students had collected dog and cat food which they presented to the KAR staff.

Thank You to the Students of GAU for your visit and donations from all the happy Dogs and Cats.

Come Back Again Soon.

KADS performance

It was an amazing success, sold out and very well received.  So much so, that the performance has been booked at 2 further venues, to be announced in the near future.

Congratulations to the performers, the organisers, the venue and most importantly the audience.   We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

Our furry paws salute you all.
