Speaking at an event, President Mustafa Akıncı said that it is the right of the Turkish Cypriots to be part of the international community in all fields including the diplomatic arena, international law, and sport, adding that this right of the Turkish Cypriots had been usurped since 1963.
Stating that Turkish Cypriots have to defend their rights to the very end and struggle for it, President Akıncı said “Turkish Cypriots have lived under isolations for many years and it is not our fate to continue living like this. We will do all we can diplomatically to overcome this within the frame of international law. There is no other way.”
