President Mustafa Akıncı has stated that it is an important responsibility to make good use of natural reserves in the Eastern Mediterranean that have been discovered in recent years with a shared wisdom for the benefit of the region and whole of humanity.
President Mustafa Akıncı spoke at the inauguration ceremony of the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project (TANAP), Turkey and Europe’s biggest energy project, which was held in Eskişehir.
Stating that the TANAP project was an excellent example of rational collaboration in the energy sector, President Akıncı said that the transportation of the reserves in the Caspian Sea to Turkey via appropriate routes and then to the European market would contribute to economic development and help to build an environment of trust.
“We sincerely wish for the spirit of economic collaboration and the political vision that created TANAP to inspire everyone,” President Akıncı said, adding that he hopes the project will be especially beneficial for Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Georgia but also for the region and humanity in general.
