Some 15,000 Runners join the Limassol Marathon

Limassol was the venue for a marathon race on Sunday 18th March, 2018. Over 15,000 runners representing 60 countries participated in the race. The 42.195 km marathon race was won by Kiprugut Simon Kirui of Kenya in  two hours, 18 minutes and 28 seconds.

The second and third positions went to Sehii Popov and Anatoliy Bondarenko from Ukraine.

Olivera Jevtic from Serbia, was the first female runner to cross the finishing line, with a time of 2:44.26

In the half marathon race Nelson Kipkogei from Kenya got the top position, whereas  Igor and Dmitry Polyanskiy from Russia got the second and third positions respectively.

From among the Turkish Cypriot runners, Osman Atakan got the 23rd position on overall basis, and 2nd position in his age group of 40-49 years.
