By Chris Elliott……..

Here in Cyprus there is a lot of excitement and organisation taking place by the various Rotary Clubs in preparation for the arrival of Rotary International, President Ian H. S. Riseley and his wife Juliet (Past District Governor) on 18th February 2018.

On Monday 19th February Rotarians will arrive from Limassol and will walk around both sectors of Nicosia before arriving at Ledra Palace together with many other Rotarians where Rotary International President, Ian Riseley will be doing a symbolic Peace Tree Planting in the UN Buffer Zone as part of a unique Peace Building and Fellowship event.

Following the tree planting event there will be singing and dancing plus the flying of kites and a group family lunch in the buffer zone.

On the 25th February Rotarians throughout  Cyprus, north and south, will be gathering to plant trees for peace at the same time in many locations which can seen on the Google map that has been created.
